A specialized nursing opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) with a focus on Cardiac Telemetry and Stepdown/PCU care. This contract role is based in Johnson City, NY, offering a 12-week assignment on the night shift, with a demanding yet rewarding schedule designed for seasoned professionals in cardiac nursing. Schedule 12-hour night shifts 36 hours per week Every other weekend off Duration: 13 weeks Required Qualifications & Experience Minimum five years of RN experience Strong background in a cardiac telemetry stepdown or progressive care unit Proficiency with cardiac procedures and conditions including TAVR, Watchman device, mitral clips, heart catheterizations, and pre/post-op open heart care beyond CVICU transfers Skilled in managing cardiac drips such as Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Lidocaine, Milrinone, Heparin, and Insulin Experience with anticoagulants, CHF, chest pain, arrhythmias, NSTEMI, STEMI, pulmonary embolism, post-op CABG (greater than 3 days), sepsis, pneumonia, stroke, and observation patients Ability to perform groin management and utilize TR band correctly Certification in BLS and ACLS is mandatory Accurate completion of telemetry skills checklist is essential Role Responsibilities Provide comprehensive nursing care as primary or accountable nurse for a group of patients Ensure assessment, planning, delegation, and evaluation of nursing care with focus on safety, efficacy, and cost-effectiveness Educate patients and families on health promotion and disease management Administer medications per established policies with a strong pharmacological knowledge base Participate actively in shared governance, quality improvements, and adherence to nursing standards and regulatory requirements Commit to ongoing professional development and support of colleagues and learners Uphold ethical standards and organizational values in patient care Location Johnson City, NY, is part of a thriving community with access to diverse cultural amenities, outdoor activities, and a welcoming small-town atmosphere.
