Job Description:
Full-time Description Postdoctoral Research Fellow - Wu Lab The
Wu laboratory at the Masonic Medical Research Institute (MMRI) is
seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to delve into
multiple exciting projects to understand transcriptional and
post-transcriptional regulation in cardiovascular development. Our
lab harnesses mouse genetics and state-of-the-art multi-omics
techniques, including bulk RNA-seq, single-cell RNA-seq, spatial
transcriptomics, ChIP-seq, and CLIP-seq, to map out the intricate
cardiac gene regulation network orchestrated by transcription
factors and RNA-binding proteins. Through our research, we aim to
shed light on the molecular mechanisms underlying heart diseases
such as left ventricular noncompaction (LVNC), thereby paving the
way for pioneering therapeutic interventions. About the PI Dr.
Tongbin Wu obtained B.S. and Ph.D. from Wuhan University in China,
under the guidance of Dr. Xiang-Dong Fu, a world-renowned expert in
RNA biology. Subsequently, Dr. Wu moved to the University of
California San Diego (UCSD) and received his postdoctoral training
in the laboratory of Dr. Ju Chen, a preeminent scientist in the
cardiovascular research field. In 2023, Dr. Wu joined MMRI as an
Assistant Professor and established his independent research
laboratory. Dr. Wu has contributed significantly to the scientific
community, with research articles published in esteemed journals
such as Circulation , Circulation Research , PNAS , Journal of
Clinical Investigation , Molecular Cell , and Nature Structural and
Molecular Biology . His recent paper in Circulation was highlighted
in the editorial “New Insights Into the Molecular Underpinnings of
LVNC”. Select recent publications:
