Job Description:-- -- --Job Title: -- -- -- -- -- -- --MAC Janitorial TechnicianReports To: -- -- -- -- --Facilities Systems ManagerDepartment: -- -- -- -- Facilities and MaintenanceClassification: -- -- --Non-exemptGrade: -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- 10Supervises: -- -- -- -- --No supervisory responsibilities----Job Summary:----The role of MAC Janitorial Technician will be responsible for the general cleanliness and maintenance of the assigned building, grounds, storage areas and associated equipment.-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- ----Essential Functions:Responsible for cleaning and maintaining the assigned areaAssures that all areas of the building are properly cleaned and suppliedDoes minor repairs when necessaryAssists with cleaning other areas as necessaryMay be required to assist with setups for special functionsFollows regulatory standards for the storage and use of cleaning supplies and chemicalsCommunicates with the Facilities Systems Manager concerning general conditions and concernsCommunicate with the Facilities System Manager regarding supply ordersStrip, seal and wax floors as neededMaintain the outside areas of building to include but not limited to snow removal and lawn maintenanceAssist with maintenance of other MAC locations as directedClean furniture and equipment as neededAreas will be inspected by both MAC and SUNY Morrisville on a routine basisTravel to different locationsAbility to operate all machinery and equipment necessary for the jobPerform other duties as assigned--Qualities:Ability to effectively communicate with vendors and facultyStrong attention to detailWork independently and as part of a teamTake initiative, anticipate, prioritize, and follow tasks through to completionSuccessfully operate within deadlines, use creative problem-solving skills, and evaluate and adjust when necessaryAdhere to Company, Department and State guidelines as directedPredictable and reliable attendanceUse creative problem-solving skillsHandle sensitive and confidential information appropriatelyStrong customer service skills are a must--Education:-- -- -- --High School graduate or equivalent; previous janitorial or maintenance experience preferred; knowledge & training of all machinery and equipment (ex. Lawnmower, Snow blower/plow, Skid Steer, etc.) necessary to the job.--Physical Conditions and Demands:----Moderate to heavy lifting, up to 50 pounds; exposure to slippery surfaces, cleaning solutions and chemicals; prolong standing, walking, bending, stair climbing, and reaching; may work alone at night.
