Leprino Foods Company, a global leader in the dairy food and
ingredient industry, is seeking a dedicated employee to join our
team located in Waverly, NY. Leprino Foods is the world's largest
supplier of mozzarella cheese and one of the largest suppliers of
premium dairy nutrition ingredients. Our customers and business

food companies, restaurant chains and distributors.
Cheese Foreperson must be able to understand the Standard Operating
Procedures (SOPs), follow safe handling of hazardous chemicals, and
keep accurate record-keeping as required. This position works
closely with department employees, Cheese Supervisors, Cheese
Manager, Main Lab, Warehouse, Maintenance Department, and Whey
A minimum of six months are necessary to become proficient in the
cheese production operations from Milk Receiving through Bulk Pack,
including HTST, vats, mixer, brine tanks, CIP systems, milk
receiving, P2, DMC, and Noltec.
The Cheese Foreperson position is a working foreperson and must be
capable of disassembly, assembling and making minor adjustments to
all cheese production equipment. The Cheese Foreperson must be able
to communicate effectively in order to train and provide
instructions to employees and exchange information with
This position also directs housekeeping efforts .
Current vacancy is for day shift from 5:45am-6:15pm
Leprino Foods is a 24/7 operating facility, and the employee must
be willing and able to work weekends, holidays, and other shifts as
necessary. Our schedules run 12 hours on a 2-2-3 rotation that
allows for every other weekend off. After training is complete, new
hires will be assigned a regular schedule on the next available
$0.75 Evening Pay Differential for every evening hour worked
$0.50 Weekend Pay Differential for every hour worked Saturday &
Conduct training of hourly employees as required on their assigned
Enforce GMP and safety policies
Inspect the production process on an hourly basis, completing the
Shift Management Walkthrough report
Verify the data each area is caputing in the MES System
Monitor prodution process to meet required customer and regulatory
Respond to any equipment or operation faulures
Place orders with Warehouse for ingredient requirments and make any
Communciate any Fine Saver or Separator issues to the Whey
Notify the Whey Department when the Vat Room re-starts
Enter quality alerts
Issue maintenance work orders as needed
Inspect equipment for potential extraneous , track in program
binders, and recmmend report or replacement
Complete Shift Summary with the Cheese Supervisor or Cheese
Perform special projects as assigned
Lead pre-shift meetings as requested by supervisor
Cover for operator positions as needed
Back up the Cheese Supervisor as needed
Other duties as assigned
Must be a minimum of 18 years old
Must be able to work Sunday - Saturday, off-shifts, weekends,
holidays, and required overtime to support a 24 hour/7-day
One year of experience working in fast-paced manufacturing
Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks
Demonstrate skill to get work accomplished through others.
Action oriented and the capacity to drive for results.
Demonstrate the ability to lead others effectively, including
training, coaching, and developing others.
Familiarity or ability to learn SAP, MES, or similar integrated
Ability to influence and communicate upward, laterally, and
downward without any direct line authority.
Experience in a manufacturing environment.
Proficient computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office
Familiarity or ability to learn SAP, or similar integrated
Prior food industry experience.
High School diploma or GED
Physical Demands & Environment:
This position will be exposed to working in a wet/slippery
environment with loud noise in varying degrees of temperature. Must
be able to withstand high heat and humidity.
Specific vision may be required for this position, including close
vision, distance vision, color and depth perception, and the
ability to read computer screens for extended time periods.
Ability to pass a physical abilities test to assess ability to
bend, reach, lift, pull, and climb stairs/ladders.
Able to access confined space and work on a platform off the
