Job Description The embroidery machine operator is responsible for operating multi-head embroidery machines to embroider custom apparel with a focus on customer satisfaction. Duties and Responsibilities (include but not limited to): Operates automatic embroidery machines with multiple sewing heads and needles controlled by computer program. Check in orders noting special instructions including due dates. Prepare (hoop and frame) all type of garments/hats for embroidery Read sales order and make sure product is completed as listed; e.g., correct artwork, color, size and item. Program and prepare the sewing machine. Change the equipment as needed for each order. Thread bobbins and needles with appropriate colors. Load and unload the machine. Fix breaks in thread as needed. Take backing off, trim, bag and pack orders. Inspect finished product before packaging. Track upcoming orders listed on job board. Ensure quality standards by examining garments and determining solutions for any issues. Trim, fold, bag and box embroidered apparel if needed. Inspect product visually for defects prior to embroidering. Obtain embroidery design files and download from database to embroidery machine. Communicate with sewing lead to reorder materials and supplies. Education: High school diploma or equivalent Experience: 1-year experience and/or training in sewing preferred. Prior working experience with a commercial grade embroidery machine helpful. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES Working knowledge of sewing machine mechanics. The ability to differentiate colors of embroidery threads. Reading comprehension. Basic math skills and computer skills. Attention to detail. Good dexterity. Ability to establish priorities, work independently and problem solve. Ability to stand for lengthy periods of time. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet the quality and performance standards of the position. Ability to prioritize tasks and being able to manage one's own time.
