The DSP 3 is responsible for providing Employment Services, Community Self-Advocacy Training & Supports, and/or Caregiver/Family Supports & Services in a high quality manner to children and their families. The DSP 3 job duties include, but are not limited to: scheduling visits with children and families, planning high-quality services that address the goals in the service plan, providing direct service to kids and families in care, documentation, and working cooperatively with other professionals involved on each case. DSP 3 positions are either part time (10-29 hours weekly), per diem (less than 10 hours weekly), or full time (35 hours weekly). Full time DSP 3 positions, when available, are eligible for benefits.Responsibilities:Provide high-quality, well-informed direct service to children and families, including planning appropriate activitiesParticipate in initial and ongoing assessments in order to develop effective services for children; advocate and support the child and family when needed; communicate ideas and feedback on goals to create a comprehensive and accurate strategy for careWork with direct supervisor and Operations Manager (OM) to complete monthly schedules for visits; adhere to schedule and communicate with team when there are changesCommunicate regularly with the Supervisor, Care Manager, and OM on each case in order to maintain the best quality of care for the child and family.Travel to multiple counties within a region in order to meet with families and collaterals in the home and communityFlexibility around the scheduling needs of the child and/or family; evenings and weekends required; part time DSPs must complete at least 80% of scheduled hours; full time DSPs must complete all hours assignedComplete all required documentationAttend supervisions and staff meetings as needed and requestedQualificationsBachelor's Degree2 years of related experience in working with individuals with developmental, medical, or mental health needsAbility to be flexible, empathetic, and work both independently and on a teamStrong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, as well as a strong attention to detailEffective problem-solving skillsSelf-confidence and an ability to work with a variety of people
