SUNY Broome Community College is a comprehensive community college located in the scenic Southern Tier of New York, the college has approximately 10,000 students annually, and serves over 4,000 full-time and nearly 3,000 part-time students per semester in Liberal Arts, Business & Public Services, Health Sciences, and STEM, programs.-- An additional 10,000 students are served through the college's community education and non-credit programs SUNY Broome Community College is seeking a full-time, 12-month appointment for an on-campus Technical Assistant IIA in the Information Technology Department.-- Reporting to the Director of Information Technology Services, the Technical Assistant maintains a supporting role to: install, configure and sustain a variety of sophisticated information and Cyber Security technologies, which include; threat detection, log monitoring, user awareness training, firewall, and anti-virus technologies.-- Candidate shall demonstrate knowledge of security frameworks, standards, and controls including CIS Top 20 and NIST 800-series, PCI-DSS, HIPAA, FERPA, GLBA, GDPR compliance as well as other Federal, State, SUNY and Industry regulations, policies, and compliances.-- The successful candidate shall assist stakeholders, committees, departments and agencies both on and off campus related to cybersecurity, risk assessments and compliance audits, and will aid with the development and maintenance of the campus' Information Security Program, policies, procedures, security audit materials, and questionnaires.-- Candidate participates in researching and recommending new technologies, security products and services, and works with hardware and software vendors to both evaluate, acquire, and maintain specialized security assets.-- Associate's degree in Computer Science or related discipline required.-- Minimum of two years work experience preferred.-- The successful candidate will exhibit excellent interpersonal skills and must possess the ability to interact with users at all levels of faculty, students and staff to interpret user needs.-- Salary dependent upon credentials and experience, range is $43,647 to $54,559.
