Manager’s role is to ensure the stability and integrity of in?house
voice, data, video, and wireless network services, with a strong
emphasis on Extreme Networks technologies. This is achieved by
planning, designing, developing, and managing local area networks
(LANs) and wide area networks (WANs) across the organization.
Duties & Responsibilities: 1. Effectively plans, designs, and
develops local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs)
across the organization to ensure the stability of all in-house
voice, data, video, and wireless network services. 2. Establishes
network policies and procedures. 3. Benchmarks, analyzes, reports
on, and makes recommendations for the improvement on in-house
voice, data, video and wireless network services. 4. Leads the IT
Department’s network planning, including fostering planning
projects, and organizing and negotiating the allocation of
resources. 5. Oversees provision of network services. 6. Works with
stakeholders to define network requirements for new technology
implementations. 7. Assists in managing financial aspects of the IT
Department; including purchasing, budgeting, and budget review. 8.
Develops business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for
IT spending and initiatives. 9. Negotiates and administers network
related vendor, outsourcer, and consultant contracts and service
agreements. 10. Manages IT network staffing; including recruitment,
supervision, scheduling, development, evaluation, and disciplinary
actions. 11. Configures networks to ensure their smooth and
reliable operation for fulfilling business objectives and
processes. 12. Monitors network performance and troubleshoots
problem areas as needed. 13. Collaborates with executive management
and department leaders to assess near- and long-term network
capacity needs. 14. Creates and maintains documentation as it
relates to network configuration, network mapping, processes, and
service records. 15. Ensures network connectivity of all network
appliances. 16. Develops, implements and maintains policies,
procedures, and associated training plans for network
administration, usage, and disaster recovery. 17. Conducts research
on network products, services, protocols, and standards to remain
abreast of developments and best practices. 18. Oversees new and
existing equipment, hardware, and software upgrades. Minimum
Requirements: 1. College degree in a computer related field and
eight years related work experience Manufacturing, Health Care,
Casino, Hospitality and/or Banking or Entertainment industry or
other high volume, highly regulated, complex, demanding
customer-oriented IT environment. 2. Certifications in Extreme
Certified Associate/Specialist/Professional, Cisco Certified
Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional
(CCNP), Cisco Certified Internet Expert (CCIE) and/or, other
related technical certification is highly desirable. 3. Proven
experience and success with network design and implementation. 4.
Proven experience with network capacity planning, network security
principles, and general network management best practices. 5.
In-depth technical knowledge of Networking platforms and the
following protocols & standards: OSPF, BGP, DNS, DHCP, SPB, SDN 6.
Ability to write, read and understand technical manuals, CAD
drawings/blueprints, procedural documentation and OEM guides. 7.
Competence with testing tools and procedures for voice and data
circuits. 8. Knowledge of data privacy practices and laws. 9.
Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills. 10.
Able to conduct research into networking issues and products as
required. 11. Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language.
12. Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to
detail. 13. Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities. 14.
Able to effectively prioritize tasks in a high-pressure
environment. 15. Strong customer service orientation. 16.
Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
17. Must possess valid driver’s license.
