Beyond their talent, these classmates share a desire to shape the future through technology, insight, intellectual exploration and community service.Job Description:Budget Title: Senior Staff Assistant (SL-3)Salary: Commensurate with experienceThe Office of International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) seeks a detail-oriented, creative, and collaborative professional for the position of Information Technology & Data Coordinator. This position serves as the primary individual in charge of information technology support and data collection within ISSS. Duties related to this position include, yet are not limited to:+ Design, develop, document, modify, test, install, and maintain the Binghamton University ISSS data management application portfolio, including Sunapsis and department-specific IT support, including verifying program logic by preparing test data and analyzing problems and data malfunctions+ Serve as a Designated School Official (DSO) and Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO) in the SEVIS system, responsible for tasks that include SEVIS registration/validation processes for F/J records, address updates, application and removal of holds, etc.+ Compile custom reports related to Binghamton University's international population for internal use. (In particular, these reports may focus on international student enrollment by country of origin, school, major, and student level.)+ Prepare and submit Open Doors Reports for IIE reporting+ Ensure that ISSS applications integrate with other University data systems and provide customized solutions to meet specific office needs including, yet not limited to, international student and scholar health insurance enrollment, full-time enrollment, and departmental scholar requests+ Develop, troubleshoot, maintain, and monitor Sunapsis e-forms, templates, alerts, reports, queries, emails, second-approvers, and other configurations+ Maintain and update the Binghamton University ISSS applications portfolio, as necessary, in response to new releases of SEVIS and Sunapsis software+ Coordinate and verify periodic SEVIS and Sunapsis data uploads and downloads+ Communicate with students, staff, and departments (such as Information Technology Services) to verify and update problematic reportable information+ Manage the ISSS webpages and provide IT support to the team, as needed, including yet not limited to device assistance and hook-up, ordering parts, trouble-shooting, and ensuring technology-related functionality+ Represent ISSS at meetings that focus on the use of ISSS-related data and/or technology interface between University systems, or as appropriately assigned+ Actively participate in staff meetings, ISSS Programming, Orientation, and special events that may require staff presence (occasionally outside of standard business hours)+ Provide quality, professional customer service to all constituents, both internal and external, and serve as an advocate for international students and scholars to on-campus and off-campus entitiesVisa sponsorship is not available for this position.Requirements:+ U.S. Citizen or Legal Permanent Resident+ Bachelor's degree + Experience supporting and assisting with technology implementation and enhancements to existing and new systems+ Detail oriented+ Strong computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Access, and Excel) and knowledge of internet and database tools and technology + Strong communication skills, including the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with varying types of stakeholders (colleagues, students, government entities, etc.)Preferred:+ Prior experience managing SEVIS records, preparing reports in a batch processing environment, and utilizing software that supports SEVIS reporting+ Prior experience utilizing Sunapsis+ Strong critical thinking to analyze and resolve data and technology issues+ Experience working in a college or university settingAdditional Information:Offers of employment may be contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment background check and verification of degree(s) and credentials.Binghamton University is a tobacco-free campus.Pursuant to Executive Order 161, no State entity, as defined by the Executive Order, is permitted to ask, or mandate, in any form, that an applicant for employment provide his or her current compensation, or any prior compensation history, until such time as the applicant is extended a conditional offer of employment with compensation.
