Job Summary The Medical Director provides clinical leadership and oversight for the skilled nursing facility, ensuring high-quality medical care, regulatory compliance, and adherence to best practices in geriatric and post-acute care. This role serves as a liaison between the facility, attending providers, and regulatory bodies, supporting optimal resident outcomes and quality improvement initiatives Key Responsibilities: - Provide medical leadership for all clinical programs within the facility. - Review and approve clinical policies and procedures. - Ensure appropriate medical care for residents, including oversight of attending physicians and midlevel providers. - Participate in medical management, including Admission notes, routine follow up care notes, and discharge summary and orders. - Ensure compliance with CMS, DOH, and other regulatory standards. - Participate in surveys and audits; assist with corrective action plans. - Lead quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI) initiatives. - Monitor clinical indicators such as infection rates, falls, pressure ulcers, and hospital readmissions.
