3/30/2026 About the Position Job Title: Staff Nurse Specialty Care

labor/delivery or high-risk OB License: Current New York State
Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS Certification
Must-Have: NRP Certification, FM Certification, ACLS Description:
The Registered Nurse (RN) protects, promotes, and optimizes health
and abilities. The RN is responsible for the prevention of illness
and injury, and the alleviation of suffering. The RN performs
diagnosis and treatment of human response. The RN advocates for the
care of individuals and families. The RN is accountable for
compliance with all standards of practice and professional
development. The RN promotes a caring and healing environment for
patient-centered care. The RN assesses, plans, delegates,
coordinates, implements, and evaluates nursing care. The RN serves
as a primary nurse and/or accountable nurse based on unit
assignment. The RN considers factors related to safety,
effectiveness, competency, cost, and impact. The RN educates
patients and families in health promotion and disease management.
The RN utilizes a working knowledge of pharmacology and safely
administers medications. The RN shares responsibilities for
productivity and effective resource utilization. The RN complies
with all nursing practice standards and regulatory requirements.
The RN participates in and supports the Nursing Shared Governance
Model. The RN engages in professional development and completes all
mandatory education requirements. The RN integrates nursing
research and current evidence into practice. The RN provides a
supportive learning environment for new employees and students. The
RN performs duties related to the Charge Nurse or Shift Coordinator
role when assigned. The RN participates in the Clinical Ladder
Program as knowledge and expertise develops. The RN will perform
other duties as assigned. Required Skills & Experience: Six months
to three years of nursing (RN) experience. Strong collaboration and
communication skills. Judgment and critical thinking skills. An
understanding of organizational dynamics. Strong planning and
organizational skills. Problem-solving abilities. Commitment to
quality and reliability. Focus on safety and risk management.
Preferred Skills & Experience: Previous clinical nursing experience
in an acute care or ambulatory setting. Required Education: A
graduate of an accredited school of Nursing. Preferred Education:
Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. Preferred Certifications &
Licensure: CCRN and relevant skills certification as required by
