Contract Duration: 13 Weeks (03/09/2026 – 06/07/2026) Shift: Days
(06:30 – 15:00 or 08:00 – 16:30 variable) Job Summary A facility in
Elmira, NY is expanding its Gastrointestinal service line with the
addition of a new provider. We are seeking a highly skilled
Endoscopy RN to support advanced GI procedures. This role is ideal
for a nurse with a strong technical background in interventional
endoscopy who enjoys a mix of inpatient and outpatient care across
two hospital campuses. Key Responsibilities - Advanced GI Support:
Assist with complex interventional procedures, including ERCP
(Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography), EMR (Endoscopic
Mucosal Resection), and EUS (Endoscopic Ultrasound). - Clinical
Versatility: Manage patient care for both outpatients and
high-acuity inpatients requiring diagnostic or therapeutic
endoscopic intervention. - Procedural Flow: Prepare the endoscopy
suite, monitor patients under conscious sedation, and assist the
physician during the procedure. - On-Call Duties: Participate in
the unit call rotation to ensure 24/7 coverage for emergency
endoscopic needs. Requirements & Qualifications - Experience:
Strong background in ERCP, EMR, and EUS is essential. - Alternative
Backgrounds: Will consider OR Nurses with specific Endoscopy
training or significant previous Endoscopy experience. - Licensure:
Active New York State RN License in hand. - Certifications: BLS and
ACLS (AHA). - Critical Thinking: Ability to anticipate the needs of
the provider during advanced, high-risk procedures. Assignment
Details & Expectations - Reason for Hire: Expansion of the GI team
due to a new provider joining the practice. - On-Call Requirement:
Typically once per week and every 6th weekend. Flexibility to
switch call shifts with team members is permitted with appropriate
notification. - Floating: Required to work at both hospital
