Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: ED - Emergency Department - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 03/16/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse – Emergency Room Upstate University Hospital (Part of SUNY Upstate Medical University) Syracuse, NY Position Snapshot Specialty: Emergency Department (Adult ED) Openings: 2 Contract: 13 Weeks Start Date: 03/06/2026 Shift: Nights – 3x12s (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend Holidays: Some required This is a high-acuity academic Level I trauma center environment. Clinical Expectations They are specifically looking for: ? Adult ED experience ? Pediatric patient experience ? Level I or Level II trauma background (preferred but highly competitive if present) ? Ability to function independently with minimal orientation This is not a low-volume community ER. Candidates must be comfortable in high-acuity, fast-paced trauma settings. ? Hard Requirements ? Active New York RN license ? BLS certification ? Minimum 1.5 years recent acute care ER experience (within last 2 years) ? Experience in hospital of equal or greater size/trauma designation ?
