Job Description Psychiatrist opportunity in Saranac Lake, New York ~ Located in the heart of the Adirondack Mountains~ 75,000 person service area Position Details: ~ Full-time, permanent opening~ This is a hospital employed position featuring a seven day on-seven day off work schedule. ~ This is an outpatient position, Monday through Friday during the seven days on, with inpatient, adult on-call duties as backup to the inpatient Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner for the full seven days. ~ The on-call duties tend to be light and would involve authorizing appropriate admissions, and completing the initial evaluation for new admissions. ~ The Psychiatrist must be board certified and have an unrestricted license to practice medicine and is able to see patients of all ages.~ Hospital Employed ~ Psychiatrist will be caring for a full and devoted patient population, with a strong referral base. ~ Competitive salary and generous benefit package~ Work in a location where others take their vacations. ~ Additionally, this is a National Health Service Corp site with a HPSA score of 14. ~ Board Eligibility/Certification required~ Candidates must have an unrestricted NY license - Or the eligibility to obtain a NY license Highlights of the new wing include: ~ 6 operating rooms, able to accommodate emerging technology~ 1 hybrid operating suite~ A 10-bed recovery room (PACU)~ 22-bed ambulatory surgery unit (ASU)~ 2 endoscopy rooms~ 1 minor procedure room~ State-of-the-art central sterile processing department with direct access to the sterile core of the OR~ A permanent MRI suite with a state-of-the-art MRI that is more open and as much as 75% quieter~ Private physician/family consultation room Community Details: ~ The organization is located within the historic setting of the six-million acre Adirondack Park, with eight regional facilities serving residents and visitors across five counties in northeastern New York.
