working with Cynet Health to find a qualified ER/Trauma RN in
Binghamton, New York, 13903! Job Title: Staff Nurse Emergency
Department Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Emergency
Nursing Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12
hours (7pm-7am) Experience: ED and psych experience required,
including substance use and crisis intervention. License: Current
New York State Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS, ACLS,
ENPC, TNCC Must-Have: Associate's degree from an accredited school
of Nursing; previous clinical nursing experience in an acute care
or ambulatory setting. Description: The Registered Nurse protects,
promotes, and optimizes health and abilities. The RN is responsible
for the prevention of illness and injury, and the alleviation of
suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human response.
Advocacy in the care of individuals and families is a key
responsibility of the RN. The RN assesses, plans, delegates,
coordinates, implements, and evaluates nursing care while managing
a group of patients. Serving as a primary nurse and/or accountable
nurse when designated is expected. Consideration of factors related
to safety, effectiveness, competency, cost, and impact is crucial.
Patient and family education in health promotion and disease
management using available resources is essential. The RN utilizes
a working knowledge of pharmacology and safely administers
medications according to policy. Sharing in responsibility for
productivity and effective resource utilization includes staffing,
time management, supplies, and services. Compliance with all
nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and policies
is mandatory. Active participation and support of the Nursing
Shared Governance Model is encouraged. Participation in improvement
initiatives and contribution to peer review practices are required.
Engagement in professional development and completing all mandatory
education requirements is necessary. Integration of nursing
research and current evidence into practice is expected. Providing
a supportive learning environment for new employees and students is
part of the role. The RN may perform duties related to the Charge
Nurse or Shift Coordinator role when assigned. Additional
