Centralus Health Ambulance (CHT) play a vital role in advancing our
mission to deliver high-quality, compassionate emergency medical
care and transport services that strengthen the well-being of our
communities. Paramedics provide advanced life support (ALS),
comprehensive patient assessment, clinical decision-making, and
emergency care under medical direction. Paramedics may also assist
with interfacility and critical care transports, community
paramedicine initiatives, and disaster response operations as
directed. As a member of the CHT team, you will be part of a

met. Education / Experience Qualifications Required:Graduation from
high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma (GED
or similar), Valid New York State Paramedic certification.Valid
American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR
certification.Valid American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced
Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.Valid American Heart
Association (AHA) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
certification.Possess a NYS motor vehicle operator's license Class
D or higher for at least the prior three years.Complete FEMA
Independent Study Courses: IS-5.a, IS-100.c, IS-200.c, IS-700.b,
IS-800.d (or most recent versions) Preferred:Experience in a
hospital-based or system-integrated EMS agency
preferred.Associate's degree;Valid International Trauma Life
Support (ITLS) certification;FEMA ICS-300 and ICS-400 Physical and
Other RequirementsAny person desiring to become an Paramedic team
member at CHT shall meet the following requirements:Minimum
Eligibility RequirementsMust be at least eighteen (18) years of
age.Maintain a driver rating of Acceptable or higher, as outlined
in the Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) guideline (203.01.01.01).Maintain
a Quality Assurance Status of Acceptable or Clear as outlined in
the Quality Assurance (QA) Status guideline (203.01.01.01).Must not
have any pending criminal charges that, if convicted, would
prohibit employment or membership in the organization, or otherwise
compromise the integrity or image of Centralus Health
Ambulance.Training and Professional Readiness
RequirementsSuccessfully complete an initial Member Training
Program and probationary period.Successfully engage in continual
Member Training and Annual Requalification as outlined in the
Member Training and Annual Requalification guideline (205.01.01.04)
for the level of service being provided to the community.Meet
minimum hourly or shift requirements either on a monthly or
quarterly basis as set forth by the Chief.Communication and
Cognitive RequirementsAbility to communicate effectively via
telephone, radio equipment, and in person.Ability to interpret
oral, written, and diagnostic form instructions accurately.Ability
to exercise sound judgment and remain calm in high-stress or
emotionally charged situations.Ability to read and comprehend
English-language materials, including manuals, maps, and medical
documentation.Ability to accurately discern street signs,
addresses, and environmental cues in varied conditions.Ability to
interview patients, family members, and bystanders to obtain
relevant medical and situational information.Ability to document
all relevant information clearly and completely in the prescribed
format, recognizing the legal significance of such records.Ability
to converse effectively in English with coworkers, dispatchers, and
hospital personnel regarding patient status and care. Physical
RequirementsAbility to lift, carry, and balance up to one hundred
twenty-five (125) pounds.Possess good manual dexterity with the
ability to perform all assigned tasks with precision and
care.Ability to bend, stoop, crawl, and maneuver safely on uneven
terrain.Ability to function efficiently throughout an entire
operational period without undue fatigue or interruption.Ability to
work effectively in varied environmental conditions such as extreme
heat, cold, moisture, and low-light situations.Ability to remain
unaffected by loud noises, flashing lights, and other environmental
stressors commonly encountered in emergency response
settings.Operational and Task Performance RequirementsAbility to
complete required tasks and special assignments as directed.Ability
to adhere to all operational safety standards, infection control
protocols, and departmental guidelines. Administrative and Health
RequirementsAnnually submit a completed physician-signed Health and
Wellness Attestation and updated immunization record in compliance
with Centralus Health policy. It shall be the team member's
responsibility to notify the Director of EMS (Chief) in writing
immediately, but no later than twenty-four (24) hours following any
incident or situation that may make that member ineligible to
provide care as outlined in this guideline. These incidents
include, but are not limited to:Pending charges as described in
Requirements A(6) of this guidelineSuspended or revoked
certificationQuality Assurance/Improvement (QA/QI) investigation at
any other agencyChanges to a Member's ability to perform as
outlined in this guideline Any team member or prospective team
member who is unable to meet the minimum team member requirements
may request reasonable accommodation. All requests should be made
in writing and submitted to the Director of EMS (Chief) for review
and consideration based on the assigned or potentially assigned
