Job Description Imaging Services Student Technologist (Casual / 2nd?Year Student) Evenings & Nights • Every Other Weekend • No Holidays Join our Imaging Services team and gain hands?on experience that supports your education and builds your confidence as you transition into your professional career. This casual position is designed specifically for second?year imaging students, offering valuable clinical exposure in a supportive environment. What You’ll Do As a Student Technologist, you will perform imaging-related tasks under the direct supervision of a registered technologist. This role allows you to apply your classroom learning, strengthen your clinical skills, and become familiar with the workflow of a professional imaging department. Key Responsibilities - Assist in performing imaging procedures and follow established protocols under the supervision of a Technologist or Radiologist. - Depending on modality, operate imaging equipment for acquisition, analysis, reconstruction, and proper documentation of image data. - Perform daily equipment checks, warm?up routines, and basic Quality Control steps under Technologist supervision. - Help set up contrast for procedures (without loading or priming the injector). - Support safe radiation practices and help obtain quality images while following all radiation safety standards. - Assist with patient positioning and exam preparation (students will not hold detectors or patients during radiation exams). - Manage workflow tasks in the Radiology Information System, including arriving patients, tracking studies, scanning scripts, and scheduling exams. - Support Technologists and Radiologists during modality?specific exams as appropriate. - Maintain clinical proficiency and stay current on all required competencies and equipment skills.
