Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse – New York Start Date: February 16, 2026 Location: Watertown, New York Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM; weekend, holiday, and call coverage required Highlights: 13-week contract assignment in a Progressive Care Unit setting Critical care experience in an acute care environment Opportunity to assume charge nurse responsibilities Comprehensive orientation including coronary care training and certification support Night shift schedule with consistent 12-hour shifts Advanced life support protocols including ACLS and dysrhythmia training Requirements: Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing Current New York State RN license required Must have completed at least one successful travel assignment; new travelers will not be considered Current critical care experience strongly preferred BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) preferred IV and IV contrast certification required Coronary care course or successful completion of challenge exam within orientation period Basic lethal dysrhythmia certification within six months of employment NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification within first six months Must reside outside a 100-mile radius from the facility Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills Ability to prioritize, delegate, and function effectively in high-stress situations Why It's a Great Opportunity: This Progressive Care Unit position offers experienced travel nurses the chance to expand their critical care expertise in a dynamic acute care setting.
