RRT at UPMC! /n Are you an experienced Respiratory Therapist
looking for a rewarding night shift position? UPMC is seeking a
dedicated Sr. Respiratory Therapist, RRT to join our team and
provide exceptional care to our patients. This full-time role
offers the opportunity to work from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., with an every
other weekend and holiday rotation. /n This position is sign-on
bonus eligible! Candidates with 1 years of experience are eligible
for a $20,000 sign-on bonus with a 2 year employment commitment. /n

Differential: Earn an additional $2 per hour on top of the
hospital's current off-shift differential for night hours worked.

Therapies: Administer therapies such as Nitric Oxide (NO) and
Tracheal Gas Insufflation (TGI) in non-traditional settings like
OR, ED, Cath Lab, and more. /n - Patient Monitoring: Monitor
patients' physiological responses to therapy, perform
bronchopulmonary drainage, and assist with breathing exercises. /n
- Diagnostic Tests: Conduct pulmonary function tests, bronchoscopy,
ABG lab troubleshooting, EEG, EKG, stress testing, and 24-hour
halter monitoring. /n - Patient Care: Read prescriptions, measure
arterial blood gases, and review patient information to determine
treatment requirements. /n - Equipment Management: Set up and
operate respiratory therapy devices, ensure equipment functions
safely, and perform necessary repairs. /n - Leadership: Function as
a Lead Respiratory Therapist in the absence of the Supervisor or
Manager, providing training and support to other staff. /n /n Night
Program Guidelines: /n /n - Commitment: Participants with 6 months
or more experience must work all FTE budgeted shifts as night hours
(7 p.m. to 7 a.m.). /n - Differential Pay: Receive an additional $2
per hour night program differential for night hours worked. /n -
Day Shifts: Any additional worked day shifts (meetings,
competencies) will be paid without the night program differential.
/n /n Purpose: /n Under the general direction of a physician and by
prescription, provide respiratory therapy services and life support
to patients with cardiopulmonary deficiencies and abnormalities.
Demonstrate an advanced level of knowledge in respiratory care and
perform all duties of a Respiratory Therapist, RRT across all

Accreditation for Respiratory Care) approved Respiratory program
required. In lieu of an Associate's degree, must have 5 to 7 years
of experience or have an NBRC Certification; Bachelor's degree is
preferred. /n Two (2) years of total respiratory care experience
with a minimum of one (1) year in critical care is required. /n
Must successfully complete one (1) approved project from the
department's project list during each annual performance review
period. /n Project approved within 3 months of hire. Licensure,
Certifications, and Clearances: CPR required based on AHA standards
that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component
within 30 days of hire. /n Employees practicing in Pennsylvania:
Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license in the Commonwealth of
Pennsylvania required. Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from
the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) required.
Respiratory Therapists who receive their RRT credential from the
NBRC after July 1, 2002 are required to maintain certification
under the NBRC requirements.Employees practicing in Maryland:
Maryland Respiratory Therapist license required. /n /n - Basic Life
Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) /n -
Osteopathic Respiratory Care OR Respiratory Care Practitioners
