Job Description Join a friendly, experienced OB/Gyn Team looking to add a BE/BC Laborist to join their full scope practice located in the beautiful Twin Tiers Region of Upstate NY and Northeastern PA. We are a clinical campus for medical students from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (Elmira campus) and have resident training programs including Family Medicine and Emergency Medicine. Join a full time laborist program as part of our commitment to maintain an excellent level of safety on labor & delivery and a better quality of life for our physicians. We have the only Level III NICU in the area and a Maternal Fetal Medicine specialist on staff. We are immensely proud of our recent Healthgrades 5-Star designation for our L&D unit for both vaginal deliveries and C Sections. - A full-time position would comprise 7 24-hour shifts per month in any combination of 12- or 24-hour shifts as the primary laborist in house. - Back-up coverage can be taken off-campus. - All shifts are in-house and coverage includes L&D, ER consults, inpatient consults, emergency GYN surgery, and returning answering service calls from patients during nights and weekends. - Full time is considered 14 12h shifts in a 28-day block in any combination (i.e. 7 24h shifts). - L&D unit does 75-90 deliveries per month, or approximately 1000 per year. Most but not all are done by the laborist group. - Emergent GYN surgery such as laparoscopy for ectopic pregnancy or suction D&C are possible but infrequent. - Epic build is in process with planned launch in March 2025. - Benefits package is available starting at 0.5 FTE and cost depends on number of contracted shifts per block. - Employed or per diem. Independent contractor role considered.
