is $37.50-53.06. Position Summary: The Perioperative Resource Nurse
at The Guthrie Clinic Health System is designed to fill workforce
gaps in high vacancy areas in the ORs. A Perioperative Resource
Nurse may serve at either our Level 1 Trauma Center (Guthrie Robert
Packer Hospital) or Guthrie Lourdes Hospital (197 bed multi
specialty community hospital.) The incumbent will work in the
services lines for which they have competencies. The Perioperative
Resource Nurses provides a high-level of clinical nursing care to
assigned patients, performing related assessments, procedures and
treatments, evaluations, patient care plan development/revisions,
and education to patient and/or family. The Perioperative Resource
Nurse puts the patient first and ensures that high quality care is
given to assigned patients by following policies, clinical
guidelines, safety systems such as medication scanning and bed
alarm use, timely and accurate documentation, core measure
compliance and serving as a patient advocate. The RN – System
Resource makes providing an exceptional patient/family experience
high priority. Education, License & Cert: To be employed as an RN –
Perioperative Resource Nurse, an individual must have at minimum, a
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, two years of recent experience in an
acute care operating suite, and pass the NCLEX. The incumbent will
preferably be proficient in two or more services. (General,
Orthopedic, ENT, Urology, Ophthalmology, Plastics, DaVinci
Robotics, Cardiology, GI, Vascular, Trauma). Ability to both scrub
and circulate cases is preferential but not required. Duties: The
caregiver will be employed as a Perioperative Resource Nurse (RN)
for the following duties: - Must be able to demonstrate knowledge
and skills necessary to provide a high level of nursing care in
units to which assigned. (Operating Room at Robert Packer Hospital
or Guthrie Lourdes Hospital) - Assesses patient's condition based
upon observation, examination, and/or interview, physician's
diagnosis, laboratory findings, age-related issues, and other
pertinent information - Completes assessment in specified time
frame. Identifies and consistently recognizes changes in normal and
abnormal parameters in the patient's physiological, psychological,
cultural, developmental, and spiritual needs - Implements nursing
interventions to achieve progress toward expected patient outcomes
or to stabilize a patient's condition and/or prevent complications
- Evaluates and documents patients' response to nursing care and
modifies or revises treatment plans, and/or contacts physicians as
circumstances require - Participates in interdisciplinary patient
care planning and evaluates patient progression in preparation for
safe discharge - Identifies and completes assessments of patient
(family) educational needs. Provides education consistent with
patient's level of understanding using existing resources based on
diagnosis, treatment plan or prescribed medical regimen - Uses
professional judgment and critical thinking to prepare, prioritize
and execute the patient's plan of care consistent with patient
assessment data and physician's treatment plans and professional
standards of evidence-based practice/care - Incorporates the
patient's physiological, psychological, cultural, developmental,
and spiritual needs into the plan of care - Follows patient care
and facility guidelines and procedures in performance of one's
duties consistently - Directs and delegates support personnel in
implementing patient's plan of care, provides guidance, and
immediately intervenes with deviation standards of care - Follows
polices and protocol when administering medications, starting
intravenous fluids and blood products. - Performs both complex and
routine treatments as prescribed by physicians, approved nursing
protocols that aligns with clinical assessment of patient's
condition - Works closely with the Nurse Manager to ensure that all
budgetary, Process Improvement, Core Measures and Patient
Satisfaction initiatives are achieved - Recognizes the importance
of being a professional role model for others
