Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Staff Duration: 12 months Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: 6 months - 3 years of nursing experience License: Current RN License Certifications: BLS Certification Must-Have: A graduate of an accredited school of Nursing Description: The Registered Nurse (RN) protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities. The RN plays a vital role in the prevention of illness and injury, and the alleviation of suffering. This is achieved through the diagnosis and treatment of human responses and advocacy in the care of individuals and families. The RN is responsible and accountable for compliance with all standards of practice and professional development. This includes adherence to relevant policies, scope and standards of practice, and the Bill of Patient Rights. The RN promotes a caring and healing environment for patient-centered care. Key Responsibilities: Assesses, plans, delegates, coordinates, implements, and evaluates nursing care. Manages a group of patients, serving as a primary nurse or accountable nurse as assigned. Educates patients and families in health promotion and disease management using available resources. Utilizes knowledge of pharmacology to safely administer medications. Shares responsibility for productivity and effective resource utilization. Complies with nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and relevant policies. Actively participates in nursing governance and improvement initiatives. Engages in professional development and completes all mandatory education requirements. Integrates nursing research and current evidence into practice. Provides a supportive learning environment for new employees and students. Performs other duties as assigned. Required Skills: Nursing experience of six months to three years. Management experience ranging from zero to three years. Five plus years of direct experience. Collaboration and communication skills (verbal and written). Critical thinking and judgment. Organizational understanding and time management skills. Problem-solving abilities. Commitment to quality and safety. Dependability and reliability. Preferred Skills: Previous clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting. Preferred Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. Preferred Certifications: Professional certification in a related nursing specialty. Relevant skills certification (i.e., ACLS, PALS, TNCC) as required by the assigned home unit.
