Volt is immediately hiring for an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist in Syracuse, NY.

As an Environmental Health & Safety Specialist (EHS), you will:
Ensure accident and incident records are complete and accurate; implement corrective actions.
Lead and collaborate with the team to investigate safety incidents, determine causes, implement corrective actions, and report as required.
Conduct routine inspections of work sites and equipment to ensure compliance with safety policies; assess hazards and coordinate corrective actions if necessary.
Assist in developing and conducting safety orientation and training programs.
Manage cases for injured employees, follow up on their status, and communicate updates to management and external entities.
Assist with filing and managing safety documentation and training records, including OSHA annual reporting and NYS Legionella testing.
Assist with the issuance of work permits.
Educate and train employees on health and safety issues.


This is a full-time, temp to hire opportunity. 1st Shift - Monday - Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm


The ideal candidate will have the following experience:
Bachelor's degree preferred.
Minimum 1 year in Safety or Environmental roles; OSHA 511 preferred.
Understanding of DOT & DEC regulations.
Experience in safety training development and presentation.
Knowledge of safety principles, OSHA regulations, and environmental compliance.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, project management, safety awareness, time management, and quality vigilance.


Pay rate: $24.04 - $27.40 per hour.

*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
