Negotiates and procures an assigned group of materials, components, supplies, equipment and services at the most favorable costs and terms consistent with standards of quality and manufacturing schedules. Responsible for forecasting, planning of materials.Material planning and inventory control for various product lines. Using management tools such as Kanban, LTA's and other inventory control tools. .Responds to bin replenishment notification for certain product lines. Responsible for setting Kanban levels, class and lead times. Manages,schedules, coordinates, and continuously improves the procurement, assembly, Shipping/receiving and office area by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.. Demonstrates and promotes transparency, inclusion, respect, courage, ownership and curiosity at every level. The duties and responsibilities below are not exhaustive but not limited to ones listed below. Leads and promotes toolbox activities to improve operations. Performs equipment justification recommendations as well as submitting request for acquisition of an asset. Qualifications

· Promote safety within the operation. Ensure work is carried out in accordance with company's safety policies.· Responsible for selecting, identifying training needs, motivating and coaching teams, evaluating and when necessary, disciplining staff.· Works with employees in supporting functions to develop training, tools, and work practices to ensure the production process yields high-quality on a consistent basis. Ensures all work is performed according to standard methods and practices.· Leads department efforts in Safety, Quality, Internal Customer Satisfaction and ITW Toolbox. (lean manufacturing).· Directs production activities and establishes production priorities for products in keeping with effective operations. Uses inventory management tools such as Kanban and inventory control elements of the production process.· Responds to bin replenishment notification by planning jobs to maintain a predetermined quantity on hand.· Plans and expedites the flow of material which will support overall plant commitments on assigned product lines.· Maintains economically balanced inventory to minimize financial investment while assuring production continuity and maintaining an awareness of pending engineering changes.· Initiates orders for company manufactured parts and assemblies; considers lot size, process capacity, lead time, family groupings, unique history and other established material planning practices. Notifies manager and group leaders when there is an inability to meet the scheduled requirements.· Responsible for consulting with and advising proper personnel on all matters pertaining to the planning for, purchase and follow up of the equipment, supplies and services for which this position is responsible.· ECO, Setup of IFS (ERP system) for new/changing assemblies in the Binghamton location.· SLOB, Performs analysis to improve slow and obsolete materials.· ERP leadership, training co-workers to improve knowledge of IFS operating platform.· Reacts to changing business conditions and problems such as overdue orders, shortages, production delays and non-conforming material to meet production commitments.· Reviews open purchase order and shop order committments to reschedule if necessary, according to current need dates.· Performs any material control-related projects needed to maintain the continuity of production.· Liaises with the procurement staff and suppliers to drive improvements in cost, and availability of our products.· Interfaces with internal customers and staff on order status and makes production adjustment as needed to meet internal customers' expectations when required with timely and clear communication.· Responsible for quality of all products in assembly area.· Responsible for work performed in office area, shipping/receiving and assembly areas.

  • Directly supervises employees in shipping/receiving and assembly area. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring recommendations and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems .Requires the ability to analyze a variety of technical problems resulting from a diversified number of items purchased. Requires mature judgement and initiative to locate proper sources of supply and ensure deliveries will meet requirements. Also requires knowledge of purchasing techniques, manufacturing processes, good verbal, quantitative and business management skills. This is normally acquired through either attainment of an Bachelos Degree in addition to 5 to 10 years experience in inventory control, production planning or scheduling.· Must have knowledge of Kanban, Supplier Kanban and inventory control fundamentals, normally acquired with 3-5 years of experience in a planning environment.· Must have good interpersonal skills in order to deal effectively with outside contacts, internal customers and company personnel in diverse positions and departments.· Requires the ability to work under pressure with considerable mental application. Must be able to coordinate many simultaneous activities.· Management experience in a production environment. Preferably a machine shop assembly operation.
