We Are Hiring
Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton, New York is seeking an experienced
Emergency Department Nurse Leader. This is an excellent opportunity
to utilize your leadership, mentoring and critical thinking skills
to serve as our Nurse Manager with our highly respected care team
in our Emergency Department.
As our Emergency Department Nurse Manager, you will be responsible
for the day-to-day management and oversight of our clinical care
team consisting of professional nurses, LPNs, patient care
technicians and support staff to promote and provide physical and
psychological support for our patients and their families. In
addition to your daily oversight of the Emergency Department care
team, you will collaborate with our medical staff providers,
para-professionals and multidisciplinary professional staff to
continuously and consistently deliver quality standards of care to
all our patients. You will report to the Director of Emergency
The Emergency Department at Lourdes consists of a 40-bed nursing
unit; a 4-bed Clinical Decision Unit and a 10-bed fast-track
department; each with their own state-of-the-art nurses station.
Annual patient volume is around 4,000 visits. Our Medical Director
and Assistant Medical Director are very engaged with our staff and
patients and provide for a highly collaborative and supportive
workplace. The Emergency Department Team are very in-tuned with our
key performance metrics, patient engagement and best practice
solutions both locally and nationally.

What You Will Do
Manage activities, workflow and nursing resources of assigned
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation
requirements for self and within unit.
- Conduct hiring, training, directing, development and evaluating
- Identify and resolve issues affecting the delivery of patient
care services for the assigned unit(s).
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to guarantee
efficient and effective delivery of health services in a unit.
- Monitor and adhere to budget. Approve or monitor expenditures,
purchases and other actions to ensure compliance with budget
guidelines.What You Will Need
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or
job transfer date required.
- Registered Nurse credentialed from the New York Board of
Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing with
experience required. Work Experience:
- 3 years of experience required.
- 1 year of leadership or management experience required.Why Join
