Location: East Syracuse, NY Pay Rate: 25.48/hour Schedule: Full Time: M-F (8am - 4:30pm) PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a premier leader in the manufacturing industry to hire a highly skilled HVAC Test/Service Technician. This role plays a critical part in advancing HVAC technology by supporting engineering teams through hands-on testing, equipment preparation, and technical problem-solving. About the Role As an HVAC Test/Service Technician, you will work under moderate supervision to perform technical tasks that contribute to the planning, execution, and success of engineering projects. You will collaborate closely with engineers, provide insights on test procedures and results, and support the training and work direction of technical staff. Your work will directly influence the quality, performance, and reliability of commercial HVAC products. Key Responsibilities • Fabricate and assemble testing apparatuses to support the testing and development of commercial HVAC products • Learn and apply HVAC product certification standards • Perform electrical and mechanical modifications to test units and components • Accurately record and document test data using data systems and MS Office applications • Calibrate test equipment to ensure accurate testing conditions • Troubleshoot units and instrumentation issues as they arise • Conduct performance testing on HVAC equipment per ASHRAE and UL standards, including setup, instrumentation, and testing of Carrier rooftop units • Collaborate with engineers on test procedures, results, and project requirements • Assist with orienting, training, and assigning tasks to technical or business support employees Required Qualifications • High School Diploma or GED • Minimum 2 years of HVAC or mechanical maintenance experience (additional education may substitute for experience) • Ability to obtain EPA 608 refrigerant certification within 60 days of start date (self-funded) Preferred Qualifications • Experience with basic electrical wiring; 3-phase electrical experience is a plus • Experience working with combustible and pressurized gases • Knowledge of refrigeration cycles and related components • Brazing proficiency • Ability to read and interpret test procedures • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Demonstrated commitment to safety • Ability to multitask and adapt quickly to changing priorities Why Join Us At PDS Tech Commercial, you will work with an industry-leading manufacturer that values innovation, precision, and teamwork.
