Employer is a comprehensive community college located in the scenic Southern Tier of New York, the college has approximately 10,000 students annually, and serves over 4,000 full-time and nearly 3,000 part-time students per semester in Liberal Arts, Business & Public Services, Health Sciences, and STEM, programs.-- An additional 10,000 students are served through the college's community education and non-credit programs. Employer is seeking a full-time, 10 month, tenure-track appointment as Assistant Professor of Music - Sound Engineering in the Performing Arts Department, to start in August of 2019.-- Candidates must demonstrate apt preparation to teach all levels of Sound Engineering. Primary responsibilities include instructing, managing the sound studio, advising students, engaging in scholarly activity, assisting the Coordinator of Music and serving on department and college committees. Preference given to applicants with experience teaching at the college level, demonstrated interest and ability in the use of alternative and innovative instructional methods, familiarity with the use of technology in the classroom, and on-line teaching experience. Master's degree in music required; doctorate preferred. Three years teaching experience, or appropriate combination of teaching, relevant work experience, and scholarly activity.-- A minimum of two years' experience in the field of Recording Arts, Live Sound Production, Studio Recording and/or Sound Design preferred. --Qualifications including being an Avid Pro-Tools Instructor and ability to teach other music courses desired.-- Candidates comfortable in a diverse student-centered environment and with a strong commitment to thecommunity college mission are encouraged to apply.-- Salary Range $47,232 to $59,040.
