Job Description /n Clean Harbors in Syracuse is seeking a Class B Driver (Retail Technician) to provide comprehensive environmental services including collection and disposal of damaged, discarded, or recalled products; recycling of light bulbs, oil, oil filters, engine fluids and other materials; and on-site cleanup activities. We are solving tough problems through innovation and proven methodology – come be part of the solution with us./n /n /n /n /n /n /n Why work for Clean Harbors?/n /n /n /n - Health and Safety is our 1 priority and we live it 3-6-5! /n - Focus on maintaining sustainability and cleaning the Earth /n - Recruiting Pay range- 25.00 - 27.00 /n - Comprehensive health benefits coverage after 30 days of full-time employment including 401K with Company match /n - Own part of the company with our Employee Stock Purchase Plan /n - Opportunities for growth and development for all the stages of your career /n - Company paid training and tuition reimbursement /n /n RESPONSIBILITIES /n /n Key Responsibilities:/n /n /n - Ensure Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and always acting in a safe manner /n - Pick up, pack and transport damaged and discarded goods management, and recalled products /n - Load, pack and segregate materials and waste products /n - Driving a Box Truck, visiting retail customer sites /n - Segregating, packing and loading materials and waste products (inventory that is damaged or expired) for safe transportation /n - Interacting with customers at each stop /n - Prepare DOT shipping documents /n - Use of a laptop, printer, handheld, and iPhone to complete tasks /n - Conduct projects/jobs according to site specific Federal, State and local regulations and health and safety plans as well as Clean Harbors Environmental Services, Inc., policies and procedures /n - Executes Jobs at Clean Harbors customer locations including fortune 500 companies /n - Responsible for final preparation and approval of all projects before shipment in accordance with OSHA, EPA, DOT and company policies /n - Conducts projects/jobs according to site specific Federal, State, and local regulations and health and safety plans /n - Understand customer specific disposal restrictions/special packaging requirements /n - Ensures drum count is correct and that drum conditions are shippable in accordance our company’s policies and procedure /n - Follow all local, state (provincial) and federal compliance regulations and rules /n - Safely operate vehicles in accordance with U.S. DOT, local, state (provincial) and federal requirements /n - Safely observe all corporate operating guidelines and procedures /n - Observe all company environmental health and safety operating guidelines /n - Perform other duties as assigned /n /n QUALIFICATIONS /n /n Required Qualifications:/n /n /n - Valid Driver’s license required /n - Strong customer service skills /n - The ability to use a laptop, handheld, printer, and iPhone are required /n - By position, eligible to obtain a CDL Class B with hazmat and tanker endorsement within 6 months of hire, company paid /n - Perform physical functions per job requirements /n - Successfully complete a background check, drug test, and physical, by position /n - Per OSHA's Respiratory Protection standard, 29 CFR 1910.34, employees in positions requiring respirators are required to meet facial hair standards. /n /n /n /n Preferred Qualifications:/n /n /n /n - Previous commercial driving experience /n - Previous route experience /n - Previous manual labor experience /n /n /n /n /n /n /n /n Clean Harbors is an equal opportunity employer. /n Clean Harbors is committed to providing access, equal opportunity and reasonable accommodation for individuals with disabilities in employment, its services, programs, and activities.
