Job Title: Software Test Engineer, Syracuse, New York

We are seeking a talented full-time Software Test Engineer for a position based here in Syracuse, New York.
 
Responsibilities:
 
•Deliver on time, on budget, and on scope
•Attend requirements/specifications and design reviews; lay out test approach and test strategy to ensure that overall quality is delivered.
•Track project execution to ensure goals are being met;
•Report status in a clear, concise, detail oriented manner
•Investigate and report any defects encountered diligently, promptly and accurately using a defect-tracking tool.
•Communicate with project, development and business teams where necessary.
•Escalate quality concerns to QA management.
•Participate with the QA team in setting the quality standards
 
Requirements:  
•5 to 8+ years of software testing/programming/business analysis/information technology experience
•BA/BS/BE from an accredited college or university or equivalent work experience
•Experience in the Insurance and Financial industry preferred
•Ability to work in a fast-paced, client-focused, dynamic environment with minimal supervision.
•Ability to work independently or within a team environment.
•Ability to work and learn in a rapidly changing environment.
•Ability to express and organize thoughts, ideas and information in a logical and understandable manner both written and oral in relation to issues that fall within their scope of responsibility.
•Ability to communicate effectively with business and technology personnel.
•Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, define problems, and develop a means or method to resolve them.
•Ability to understand business process and work flows.
•Ability to identify testable statements contained in requirements and specification documents, and devise and run appropriate tests.
•Experience with Quality Center is a plus
•Experience working in an onshore/offshore testing model desirable
•Experience with Agile delivery concepts a plus
•Experience with test automation (QTP, Cucumber) a plus
